OUR PLANTING FAMILY
THE SWIRSKY FAMILY
The Swirskys are all about growing families. Their own family and
the family of God. Jonathan and Amber felt that God might be calling them to start a new faith family in the Summer of 2023.
They began praying and asking God if planting a church was the next step for their family. Through these prayers and the encouragement of others, Amber and Jonathan felt led by God to plant a church in Northeast Harris County.
Jonathan and his wife Amber have five children, Alek, Lily, Liza, Libby, and Tevvy. The Swirskys have been committed to ministry in the Houston area for over 15 years.
Jonathan was born and raised in Houston, TX. Amber was born in Moscow, Russia and was adopted into Texas at age 8. They met at youth group in high school and were married a few years later.
Jonathan graduated from Liberty University (B.S. Youth Ministry) and Liberty Theological Seminary (M.Div in Biblical Studies).
Excited to serve through Grace Bridge Church, the Swirskys eagerly anticipate what God will do.

A los Swirsky les apasiona ver crecer a las familias: su propia familia y la familia de Dios. En el verano de 2023, Jonathan y Amber sintieron que Dios podría estar llamándolos a comenzar una nueva familia de fe.
Empezaron a orar y a preguntarle a Dios si plantar una iglesia era el siguiente paso para su familia. A través de esas oraciones y del ánimo de otras personas, Jonathan y Amber sintieron que Dios los guiaba a plantar una iglesia en el noreste del condado de Harris.
Jonathan y su esposa Amber tienen cinco hijos: Alek, Lily, Liza, Libby y Tevvy. Los Swirsky han estado comprometidos con el ministerio en el área de Houston por más de 15 años.
Jonathan nació y creció en Houston, Texas. Amber nació en Moscú, Rusia, y fue adoptada y llevada a Texas a los 8 años. Se conocieron en el grupo de jóvenes en la preparatoria y se casaron algunos años después.
Jonathan se graduó de Liberty University (Licenciatura en Ministerio Juvenil) y de Liberty Theological Seminary (Maestría en Divinidad con énfasis en Estudios Bíblicos).
Con mucha ilusión por servir a través de Grace Bridge Church, la familia Swirsky espera con entusiasmo todo lo que Dios hará.
OUR SPANISH PASTOR
SERGUEY ROMERO
Pastor Serguey Romero and his wife, Marvelys, have been married for 11 years, united by a strong missionary calling and a deep commitment to God’s work. From a very young age, Serguey felt the call to pastoral ministry; at just 18 years old, he began serving, and since then he has faithfully served for more than 20 years in different ministerial areas within the Lord’s work.
His ministry began in Cuba, where Pastor Romero served as a missionary, Youth Pastor, leader of Evangelism Explosion, and later as Senior Pastor. Later on, God led them to Uruguay, where Serguey served as Missions Pastor and coordinator of Evangelism Explosion, while Marvelys served as a leader and teacher of children in the local church, in addition to directing the Esperanza para Niños (Hope for Children) ministry.
Upon arriving in the United States, Pastor Romero began his ministry and leadership at Champion Forest Baptist Church, where he served during his ministerial training in a multicultural context.
Pastor Romero holds a diploma in Youth Ministry and a Master’s degree in Christian Ministry. He is currently pursuing a Master of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), which is strengthening his preparation to serve with excellence in teaching and pastoral leadership.
Today, Pastor Romero is committed to the planting and shepherding of Grace Bridge en Español. Together with Marvelys, their desire is to build a vibrant community of faith, trusting in God’s direction to reach many with the message of the Gospel.
As a family, they have a passionate heart for local missions and a deep desire to reach others through evangelism, discipleship, and the planting of new churches that reflect the love and hope of Christ. With a clear calling and intense passion, Pastor Romero and Marvelys continue walking in obedience, convinced that God has placed them in this time and place to be instruments of spiritual and community transformation.

El Pastor Serguey Romero y su esposa Marvelys llevan 11 años de matrimonio, unidos por un fuerte llamado misionero y un profundo compromiso con la obra de Dios. Desde muy joven, Serguey sintió el llamado al ministerio pastoral, con apenas 18 años, y desde entonces ha servido fielmente por más de 20 años en diferentes áreas ministeriales dentro de la obra del Señor.
Su ministerio comenzó en Cuba, donde el Pastor Romero sirvió como misionero, Pastor de Jóvenes, líder de Evangelismo Explosivo y posteriormente como Pastor Principal. Más adelante, Dios los llevó a Uruguay, donde Serguey se desempeñó como Pastor de Misiones y coordinador de Evangelismo Explosivo, mientras Marvelys ejercía como líder y maestra de niños en la iglesia local, además de dirigir el ministerio Esperanza para Niños.
Al llegar a Estados Unidos, el Pastor Romero inició su ministerio y liderazgo en Champion Forest Baptist Church, donde sirvió durante su formación ministerial en un contexto multicultural. Actualmente, se desempeña como miembro activo de la red de plantación de iglesias de Send Network, a través del programa de residencia en español, que los está guiando y equipando para nuevas plantaciones.
El Pastor Romero cuenta con estudios teológicos, diplomas en Ministerio Juvenil y una Maestría en Ministerio Cristiano. Actualmente está cursando una Maestría en Teología en el Seminario Bíblico Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), lo cual fortalece su preparación para servir con excelencia en la enseñanza y el liderazgo pastoral.
Hoy, el Pastor Romero está comprometido en la plantación y pastoreo de Grace Bridge Español, iglesia que está naciendo en el área de Huffman y Colony Ridge, al noreste de Houston, Texas. Junto a Marvelys, su deseo es levantar una comunidad vibrante de fe, confiando en la dirección de Dios para alcanzar a muchos con el mensaje del evangelio.
Como familia, tienen un corazón apasionado por las misiones locales y un deseo profundo de alcanzar a otros mediante el evangelismo, el discipulado y la formación de nuevas iglesias que reflejen el amor y la esperanza de Cristo. Con un llamado claro y una pasión intensa, el Pastor Romero y Marvelys continúan caminando en obediencia, convencidos de que Dios los ha puesto en este tiempo y lugar para ser instrumentos de transformación espiritual y comunitaria.

CHRISTY BROWN
Christy Brown is a senior studying Music Education at Houston Christian University. Christy has grown up in First Baptist Church Huffman, having the opportunity to serve on the worship teams, where she learned what it means to have a heart of worship. She has a passion for seeking the Lord, playing music, children, and being in God’s creation.
Christy is so excited to join Grace Bridge Church’s mission and to grow in faith alongside this blossoming church family. She has seen God move in many marvelous ways and can’t wait to see his glory shine through this church. “He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.” Psalms 40:2

Christy Brown es estudiante de último año en la carrera de Educación Musical en Houston Christian University. Creció en la iglesia First Baptist Church Huffman, donde tuvo la oportunidad de servir en los equipos de alabanza y aprender lo que significa tener un corazón de adoración. Le apasiona buscar al Señor, tocar música, trabajar con niños y disfrutar de la creación de Dios.
Christy está muy emocionada de unirse a la misión de Grace Bridge Church y de crecer en la fe junto a esta iglesia que está floreciendo como familia. Ha visto a Dios moverse de maneras maravillosas y no puede esperar a ver su gloria brillar a través de esta iglesia.
